Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness, or myopia, is the ability to see things clearly up close, but with blurry vision at distance. Myopia occurs when the eye is too long, causing light rays entering the eye to focus in front of the retina, creating a blurry image. Nearsightedness affects 40% of Americans, and is correctable with glasses, contact lenses, LASIK, PRK, or refractive lens exchange.
