What Is SLT?
Selective laser trabeculoplasty, or SLT, is an excellent treatment option for patients with glaucoma. SLT can help lower intraocular eye pressure, which helps control the glaucoma. This laser targets specific cells in the trabecular meshwork. The treatment is performed in the office, takes about five minutes, and has no restrictions afterward. Unlike older forms of glaucoma laser treatment, the SLT laser can be repeated if necessary.
